About Dr. Baker

When I was three years old I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.  I had a sister two years older who had severe complications related to her colon. At the tender age of four, she had seen many doctors, including the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota.  My parents were told she had a maximum of six weeks left to live. A friend recommended his chiropractor.  It took three months of adjusting the part of the spine that affects nerves going to the colon and doing dietary changes.  She has had a happy productive life since then.

When I saw my sister's life change, the chiropractor became my mentor.  I started working for her when I was 14, then finished an AA in World Religions and a BA at the University of Minnesota in Child Psychology and German.  I graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1978 at age 22 with my doctor of chiropractic degree. While there I did extra coursework in obstetrics, pediatrics, and nutrition.

I began full time practice in July, 1978 and have owned my own practice ever since. My practices have included practicing with other chiropractors, medical doctors, podiatrists, massage therapists, naturopathic doctors and professional counselors. When the youngest of my four children went to college, I went with her in the evenings and completed a Master’s in Counseling at the State University of West Georgia in 2002.

I currently live in Washington County with my husband, Mark.  Between us we have 11 grown children, 18 grandchildren, and enjoy working together to help bring you the best care we can.  The office has new x-ray equipment which I use only as necessary. Assessment is done primarily through exam and listening.  Your body knows what's wrong; it's our job to ask the right questions.  Sometimes I may have to send you for an MRI or other testing.  Treatment is primarily done by hand to restore joint function, relieve discomfort in the soft tissue and teach you things that you can do to feel your best. I am so happy that I am able to do what I most enjoy - help people feel good!

"IT FEELS GOOD TO FEEL GOOD."
